heart1Working towards the day when every pet has a loving home. Animal Rescue of the Rockies pulls homeless dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters and places them in loving foster homes until their forever homes are found. We promote spaying and neutering to reduce pet overpopulation and encourage quality relationships between pets and their people through behavior resources and training.

Featured Rescues of the Month

Fred

Bark about being in the pink! From the tip of his tongue to his speckled pink nose and rakish left eye patch, Fred is a cheerful combination of affection and action. This proverbial people pooch LOVES belly rubs, cuddles on the couch, and even being groomed. Extremely energetic, he enjoys playing ball and going for brisk walks, walking well on a leash, but he definitely prefers his own company to that of other dogs, and can prove to be a “pawful” for his own amusement. As clever as he is cheeky, he knows such commands as “come”, “sit”, “stay”, and “leave it”, and is both crate and housetrained. Now for Fred to flourish, he needs to be the only dog in a patient and loving breed experienced home committed to continuing his education while keeping him mentally stimulated and physically satisfied.

Suzie

Sleek as a panther in her long, shiny black coat, stylish Suzie was made for stroking and petting, loving and pampering. Sweetness purrs-onified with affection to spare, the noble 9-year-old is on the prowl for a fur-ever home to pamper her in exchange for her sassy Suzie loving. Currently located at the Cat Casita in Fairplay, her cat guardian, Kerrie, can be contacted at 970-485-3342.
