Working towards the day when every pet has a loving home. Animal Rescue of the Rockies pulls homeless dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters and places them in loving foster homes until their forever homes are found. We promote spaying and neutering to reduce pet overpopulation and encourage quality relationships between pets and their people through behavior resources and training.

Every bit as sweet as her name implies, Coco is 30 pounds of chocolate-coated puppy cuddliness and charm. Saved from a high-kill shelter, she’s understandably shy when meeting new people before she warms up to them and seeks their attention. Frisky and friendly, she gets along well with her doggy foster sib, alternating between engaging him in play and plopping down and baring her belly in submission. Eager and energetic, she loves shaking and chewing plushy toys and gnawing on antlers and raw marrowbones. While sometimes motivated by food, praise and affection work best, and this bright beauty knows “sit”, “come here” and calmly allows her foster mom to put on her harness. Almost fully housetrained, at work on her leash and crate training, all Coco needs now is a loving home to educate her fully and keep her mentally stimulated and physically satisfied fur-ever.
Honeybell & Kady
Honeybell is a sweet, soft kitty girl with a ton of personality. She can be a bit aloof at first meeting, but reveals her friendly demeanour as soon as she feels at home. Honeybell has one crumpled ear which doesn’t bother her at all. In fact, we think it just makes her all that much cuter and unique!
Honeybell loves her sister, Kady. The two girls have been through so much together and thoroughly enjoy one another’s company. For this reason, we are adopting them out together. Both Kady and Honeybell get along with most other cats and love the dog in their foster home.
Honeybell’s crumpled ear was most likely a congenital birth defect or possibly an old injury. It is very easily managed with ear drops and occasional cleaning and doesn’t pose any problems for her.
Honeybell is fixed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. She is being fostered with Kady in Westminster.
Each girl has mild special needs. When Kady came into rescue she suffered from triatitis. Her condition is fully controlled with medication, which she happily takes with treats. She requires periodic blood work to double check her medication is at an appropriate dose. Honeybell came to the rescue with a squished ear, most likely from an untreated injury. With ear drops and occasional cleaning, her ear issues are fully controlled.
