heart1Working towards the day when every pet has a loving home. Animal Rescue of the Rockies pulls homeless dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters and places them in loving foster homes until their forever homes are found. Featured Rescues of the Week

Lovey

Living up to her name, Lovey fell in love with her foster mom the moment they met, climbing easily onto her lap, then finding the toy box and eagerly bringing every toy over to her. The 15.5-pound creamy cutie is cuddly and sweet, plays happily on her own, especially with her toys, and has just discovered the delight of dashing about in the snow. One of her most endearing traits is her dancing “routine”– performed as if choreographed on her back legs whenever she goes outside and comes in. Clearly someone’s pet at one time, the former stray thrives on activity and affection, but should she become anxious, her foster mom calms her with a long, soothing back rub. Crate and housetrained and at work on her leash skills, she may not know any commands as yet, but being bright and treat motivated should make her easy to teach in an attentive and active home.

Jazzy

Jazzy is a cuddly, affectionate, and petite 1 year old who is looking for a best human friend. She is a touch shy on the first day she meets you, but in a short time she warms up to become a devoted feline partner, climbing into your lap or sleeping in bed beside you. She likes to play with dangling feathers and other wand toys when they are offered, but is otherwise mellow. Jazz would be a great housemate for an individual or couple, or a family with children over age 10. She is OK with other mellow pets who give her space to be herself without feeling threatened, but would thrive as the only cat in the home. Jazz is fostered in Boulder and excited to find her forever home soon!
